I'M BACK!
As some of you may have been aware, I spent the past few days in Las Vegas. I think Vegas is a place that everybody has to go to at least once in their life, just for the experience. If you like excessive drinking, gambling, sex and flashing lights, Vegas is the place for you.
After being in a city where liquor sales go all night and you can gamble on anything, it's weird for me to go back to a place where the laws are different. If I walked down Oakland Ave in Milwaukee with a beer in one hand in a prostitute in another it would be looked down upon. Where is the justice in this world?
I love watching sporting events at a sports book. It is a great atmosphere. Tons of games on TV, tons of people betting their next month's rent or their child-support payments and letting everybody know about it by the way they yell and scream at the game they have money on.
Another thing I enjoy are those commercials with the guy with slicked back hair and a nice suit telling me how he knows the winners to all of tonight's games. If he really knows who is going to win before it happens, what does he need my credit card number for? Can't he just bet on those games and win big? Wouldn't him giving me his 'winning bet' ruin the odds and thus the payout for me? It's all so confusing. Oh wait, no it's not. It's a scam. That's actually not that confusing at all.
It's amazing how much your perspective on a bet changes after you lose. Tampa Bay favored by 2.5 at Carolina looked pretty good to me, then after they played terrible football and lost I thought "how didn't I see that coming?" I guess that's why the bookie drives the big car.
All right I have some more stuff I want to get to. It's on the way.
