ADAM DUNN SETS SINGLE-SEASON K RECORD
Cincinnati Reds slugger ADAM DUNN struck out in his first two at-bats this afternoon in Chicago to set the Major League single-season record for most strikeouts, which now stands at 190. I have a few comments on this...

1) At least neither he nor the organization sat him a bunch down the stretch to prevent him from setting the record (like JOSE HERNANDEZ when he was with the Brewers).

2) 190 strikeouts are bad...But when put together with 45 HR, 107 RBI, and splits like .264/.387/.564 (.951 OPS) it really doesn't matter that much. If you have a slap hitter striking out 190 times then it is a concern, but as long as you have a guy hitting 45 HR and getting on base at a .387 clip, no worries at all, man.
