MILTON BRADLEY DONE IN CLEVELAND
After not running out a pop-up that fell in for a base hit in a spring training game, the Cleveland Indians have decided that Milton Bradley is not worth the headaches he causes with his behavior. When Manager Eric Wedge told him that he should have been on second on that ball, Bradley responded. The disrespect he showed the manager was the last straw.
Bradley had a solid season in 2003 (.321/.421/.501). He played in only 101 games getting 377 ABs because of a back-injury that forced him to miss the final six weeks of the season.
Bradley has had a troubled past. He spent three days in jail this February for speeding away from police after being pulled over.
Also, Bradley has to stop wearing that do-rag underneath his hat. Preston Wilson does it and I think a few other players do. It looks so bad. I never understood why Major League Baseball doesn't have a dress-code. All of the other major sports have one. I'm sure the MLBPA would fight an MLB dress-code to the death. I'm not saying it has to be as strict as the NFL, but something like "no straps going underneath the shoes to hold the pants down" or "no crooked hats" might be a good start. Also, no "pajama-style" uniform like the baggy ones that Barry Bonds and Manny Ramirez like to sport. Eric Gagne might have the biggest pants in baseball though. Those things are like garbage bags. Ridiculous.
