AROUND THE LEAGUE
Detroit 7, Toronto 2
The Tigers didn't have two wins until about mid-May last season didn't they? Unfortunately for the Tigers, the loss was costly as Dmitri Young broke his leg and will miss at least six weeks according to reports.

Boston 4, Baltimore 1
The Red Sox tried to erase all memory of their lackluster performance Sunday night with a solid victory over the Orioles. Curt Schilling went 6 IP, allowing 1 ER with 7 K and 1 BB on 6 H. Keith Foulke picked up his first save with his new team.

San Diego 4, Los Angeles 4, bot of 9
Eric Gagne came in to pitch the ninth. He allowed one batter to reach base via a hit-by-pitch. Gagne was pumping 96 on the gun. I couldn't see who the batter was, but earlier in the inning a lefty took two fastballs down the middle of the plate. I know a 96 mph pitch is tough to hit, but you'd figure that if you're going to hit anything off of Gagne it's going to be the fastball down the middle earlier in the count. Going down 0-2 to Gagne is just a mess.

Did anybody hear about Adrian Beltre being upset that he was moved to 7th in the lineup? Before the Dodgers acquired Milton Bradley he had been told he was going to hit 3rd this season in front of Shawn Green (which probably wouldn't have been a good move, but that's another discussion). Anyway, when Bradley was acquired he was moved to 3rd and Beltre to 7th. Beltre took offense to this. Somebody should tell him that he had a .295 OBP last year and is a career .262 hitter with a .320 on-base. He's lucky to be in a MLB lineup with those numbers.
